BBC NEWS | Business | Britain's streets of debt: Whistleblower

Surprise, surprise; big business preys on the vulnerable! And I'd never expected less of our banking institutions! Who would ever have suspected that they put profits before their customers? Surprise, surprise; banks are capitalists ... whoever would have thought it?

Interesting to get an insider view though.

There were some really frightening statistics published recently of the debt levels in York. I should imagine that Harrogate is perhaps not far behind, the surface affluence of towns like ours can hide an economy built on credit.

Thanks for popping by Martyn.

I remember, as a lad in Sunderland, the comedianBobby Thompson going on about debt. That was his reference to Hire Purchase, as far as I remember.

Problem is these days, Credit sounds like a benison; why can't they just come clean and call it Debt?
